1️⃣ Lay yourself down on a bench, eyes in line with the bar above you, pull your legs back to create an arch in your back. ⠀
2️⃣ Push your glutes and back/shoulder blades into the bench, adjust your feet so you can drive your feet through the ground (heels stay up) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀
3️⃣ Grab the bar with your arms shoulder width apart, take a breath in and push bar up and over your chest. ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4️⃣ Keep your elbows at a 45 degree angle as you push up and lower down ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5️⃣ Make sure as you lower the bar you tap your chest or almost touch, this way you’re reaching full ROM and getting the most out of your bench press. We don’t want to come halfway down or bounce the bar off the chest - this either isn’t a full rep or you’re using too much momentum and not controlling the movement 👎🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Coach Coral is back taking you through correct form for a bent over row, if you’re finding that you’re not hinging back into the row enough then you’ll be taking away the movement from your back muscles and using more of your shoulders, which we want to avoid!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re finding yourself shrugging the weight up or standing up as you pull the bar towards you, then the weight is most likely too heavy for you and we’d advise to stop ego lifting (🤣) and work on controlling the movement with tempo! FULL BODY MONDAYS ⚡️🏋️‍♀️✨ Happy Monday! We always kick off the week with a full body strength & conditioning session here at EmpowHER HQ. Well here it is, a couple more tips to help you get the most out of your bent over row 👌🏻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you’ve been struggling with back pain or unable to feel the movement where you should be in your rows, this is for you! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Coach Coral is back taking you through correct form for a bent over row, if you’re finding that you’re not hinging back into the row enough then you’ll be taking away the movement from your back muscles and using more of your shoulders, which we want to avoid!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you’re finding yourself shrugging the weight up or standing up as you pull the bar towards you, then the weight is most likely too heavy for you and we’d advise to stop ego lifting (🤣) and work on controlling the movement with tempo!
